Day 20

I had a hard time falling asleep last night with all the coughing, but apparently once I did I fell into a deep enough sleep to ignore my alarm and the snoozing that occurred for the following 45 minutes. As a result, I had to skip breakfast, which wasn't a big deal seeing as the thought of food was still a bit nauseating to me. Because of my lateness and the location of my first class I decided to try the pathway "Lovers' Lane" to get all the way across campus. I could have never made it on my own, but thankfully plenty of other students were taking the path for me to follow. I made it to my two hour lecture with time to spare and it started off interestingly, talking about Global Warming and such. My lecture ended a bit early, so I decided I would then make my way to the post office to mail my apartment application to Mom and Dad. It was quite unfortunate that I had to queue for 20 minutes just to get postage on a letter, but at least I had the time to do so. I returned to campus to turn in my first Number Theory assignment. It was definitely new to me, filling out a sheet, getting a time stamp, then dropping it into a mail-slot in the wall. I made my wait over to my next building and awaited my class to start. Number Theory was pretty interesting today, we learned about the Euler φ function, which I had briefly touched base on in my first semester of college. After a class full of coughing, I returned to the dorm and picked up some orange juice and tea from the shop downstairs. Then I made myself lunch and tea, did some more math homework, and watched HP & the Sorcerer's Stone before getting a skype call from Matt. I went to dinner with the girls, fish and chips again, then we agreed to meet up in 10 minutes to watch 10 Things I Hate About You. Before actually starting the film, we had fun dancing, talking, and eating sweets and hot cocoa. The film was so good (surprisingly I had never seen it before), though it was terribly predictable, as with most chick flicks. Then we continued to talk. Somehow, late at night and breakfast time seem to be the times we talk about really serious, debated issues such as abortion and the death penalty. Our conversation led us to taking an online test for the levels of hell according to Dante's Inferno. Of the 9 levels, Louise and I found ourselves partying at level 6 with the Heretics, though I ranked high or moderate in the majority of the other levels. Despite these results, I will sleep like a baby tonight. The only thing that can keep me awake would be my coughing. Perhaps tomorrow my voice will return to me.
