Today was very low key. I slept in and spend the day "slothing." Well, I actually did Number Theory homework that is due in a week and Cryptography homework due in two weeks.. all the while, I was also watching Friends all day. I kept my door propped open and unlocked, though we all mainly kept to our rooms today. I skype chatted a bit with my mom and this evening I got a quick skype call from Gayle and an hour later I got to skype with Matt. Then I sat and talked with Jen for a bit and told her about the pub quiz in the bar in my building I was going to with Will, my UMASS friend. She decided to come along, which I was happy for her to join us. It was just the three of us, so we stood no chance with all the British pop and history questions. We named ourselves the Northern Foreigners, but throughout decided we were going to be the International Idiots next week. Somehow we ended up getting 15 questions right out of the 50 asked; we definitely came in last place, but we got a good laugh out of our go-to answer being Angelina Jolie and our very sad educated guesses. We had so much fun laughing at it all and we can't wait to go back. Who knows.. Maybe eventually we will win the 100 pound prize. I returned to my room and within 15 minutes Jen came in. We talked, got to know each other more; it was really nice. Then Egyptian Louise and Kate knocked on the door to join us after hearing our laughter. Again, there was plenty more talking and laughing as well as some language barriers such as the word "vest." Shortly after, Greek Louise came knocking and the talking continued until Egyptian Louise confessed her hunger and want for honey, so I gave her a packet that I took from breakfast. We all headed to the kitchen for about 10 more minutes of bonding, then went our separate ways after agreeing to eat an 8:00 AM breakfast together in the morning.
I'm missing the Superbowl; it feels so weird without my usual party foods and new commercials.
