I know it's a little late, and it's not even day 10 anymore, but my day wasn't over so I couldn't write earlier.. I woke up pretty early this morning with a headache, as I have most mornings I've been here. I had two early lectures. Between my headache and exhaustion I kept nodding off in cryptography, of course it might not have been so bad if he didn't drone on about something it takes 5 minutes to explain. We literally spent the whole class just attacking a permutation cryptosystem... Then I had Diff EQ, which I needed to talk to another professor afterwards to get me signed up for the online assignments. After that, I finally made it to the library for the first time. They actually lend out math textbooks.. so I need to go back and get my 3-inch-thick book for Diff EQ. I returned to my room with time to spare before my skype date with Matt, who kept me smiling as always. Though I told him I would do work when we finished skyping, I tried to nap instead.. no luck. I headed back to campus for my last class of the week, another cryptography class, at least I stayed completely awake this time.
The girls and I went to dinner, then got ready to go out again. We chilled in Kate's room, all looking fabulous (perhaps some pictures tomorrow). Then we searched for our taxi downstairs which took us to the bar Chase to hang out until the club opened. Once at Riverside, we finally got to dance, which is all we really wanted. As the night progressed, the club got overly crowded. I got a spiky high-heel to the foot, guys grabbing at all of us, and , of course, spilled drinks. My defense mechanism this week: elbowing. It worked pretty well and I was able to hide my American-ness by not talking. The evening ended when an old guy felt up one of the girls; we were all happy to leave at that point.
I should be going to the coast tomorrow! I'm really missing Matt right now, the worst I've felt since I've been here. I hope some sleep will allow me to feel more content.
