Day 13

This morning the girls and I met for breakfast at 8:00 AM; they claim this to be the biggest group they've ever had for breakfast.. and it will probably never be that big again. Only two of us had 9:00 AM lectures, so the rest returned to their beds to go back to sleep. I had my two hour lecture for Environment and Sustainability, where he broke the class down into smaller groups to come up with the 5 biggest environmental issues in the U.K... that's when we realized that none of the students in my group were from the U.K., so he told us to do it on a European scale.. so I had to let him know I am American, which caused him to say "global scale." So now they are all aware of my being American, which turned out pretty good because he used far less examples of American failures with environmental concerns and started using other countries as well. After class, I headed over to the Student Union Building to meet up with the girls and go to the 'Refreshers Carnival,' which was just a bunch of tables for all the societies and clubs where they tried to bribe you into joining by giving you free candy, keychains, and pens.. I didn't mind pretending to be interested. It was not nearly as big as the girls had thought it would be, so none of the clubs really appealed to me other than the 'Give it a Go' club, where they organize events for inexperienced people who would just like to try things such as fencing, salsa dancing, and even a trip to the Edinburgh Castle. I had class again shortly after we made it through the carnival, so I headed over to Number Theory and proved three times that there are an infinite number of primes. Then, I headed back to my dorm for lunch and a nap. I had dinner with the girls and we all crashed in Esther's room for a while. I was then able to skype with Matt, who I enjoy seeing and talking to so much, and now it is bedtime, I suppose.

Goodnight!
