This morning I woke up and continued to frantically pack. I
showered and had Jen French braid my hair so it won’t be too gross after my 29
hours of traveling beginning today. We rolled down the halls to make our
breakfast, watched some Big Bang Theory, and printed off important things in
the computer cluster. She walked me to the taxi I had ordered and we hugged
goodbye. I got to the airport extra early and had to wait for a couple hours. In
my time waiting, I read some of my book for Environment and Sustainability as
well as just sketched. A waiter walking by my table in the airport asked me if
I was drawing professionally. I assured him I was not, so he told me “Well, it
looks wonderful.” I ran into a few study abroad students I know from Newcastle
on my way to boarding my plane. Lucky me, I had a girl next to me coughing half
the trip… you all know I had my hand sanitizer at the ready. The man across the
aisle was ready a newspaper with a plane crash story on the front page, the
page facing me. It seemed to be a bit of a worrisome hour and a half plane
ride. I got off my plane and was completely confused about where to go. I have
found a place to sit and charge my items, however, I still have yet to
determine which gate I leave from because it’s too far away. As for my night,
12.5 hour layover = Harry Potter Movie Marathon. Oh, and there are military men
walking around in the airport with guns… I think I feel more scared than I do
safe.
