While I am studying abroad at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne for a semester, I figured a blog would be a good idea to keep all of my friends and family updated on my British adventures and a good way for me to not get too homesick.

Day 37
Yesterday was a difficult day.. I assumed that I had just slept wrong, and as a result I was in a lot of pain from my head to my lower back. I was lightheaded, even while taking a shower at 1:00 in the afternoon, so I stopped by Jen's room. Instead of going to my philosophy lecture, I drank tea and laid flat in Jen's room, though there was no possible position I was not in pain. I forced myself to go to my math lectures because there is no other way to get the material. I did not feel hungry all day, but I made myself eat the macaroni and cheese for dinner with the girls. I returned to my room, got to skype Matt, and just laid down... all night. around 9:45pm Jen got back from her date and came in to see me. She tried giving me a back massage, though it did not really help. She told me all about her date while doing so. We also found that one of my glands in my neck is swollen. Eventually, once she finished her essay, Kate came in as well. I left my room for just a minute and returned shivering uncontrollably. It's not that I was necessarily cold, per say, but I just could not stop. Jen and Kate helped bundle me in fuzzy socks, sweatpants, and my hoodie, then tucked me in tightly with my duvet and airplane blanket... keep in mind my heat had been turned on to 'max' all day, so Kate and Jen were sweating. After they left me, I finally fell asleep, only to wake up and hour later sweating like a pig. I stripped down and had to get my towel to dry myself off... but don't you know I played this 'I'm too hot,' 'I'm too cold' game all night long, taking layers off and putting them back on... it was rough.
